the filming process

Image
During the filming process, I began by working with my group members to prepare everything for filming. I looked over the storyboard a few times. I helped come up with the idea to bring a trash can into the scene to be later used as a prop. After going over each scene and working out camera angles the filming process began. During the filming of the first shot, I stood up on the staircase of building 17. I stood on one step and acted as if I was texting on my phone. I had also asked someone to take a couple pictures of us as we worked on the first clip. After taking a couple first shots, one of my group members filmed a clip of me in shock of what had just occurred in the first clip. After acting in the first two clips, I helped to film and produce the next few clips. Then it was time to act in a clip. Figuring out how to make this clip run smoothly was difficult. However, using our resources and a little brainstorming we made it work. A group member filmed me walking down the stairs

Slide one: In this opening clip, we will have two students in frame. Using a full body shot, one is standing with a smoothie in their hand and the other is briskly walking right towards them. In the background you can see the stairs behind the students. The actor walking will not be paying attention.  Slide two: In the second slide, the two students collide and the kid with a smoothie spills it on themselves. The one with no smoothie continues walking, and the one who spilled pauses for a moment. They try to clean themselves off and fail. They are visibly annoyed. The character on the stairs behind them witnesses this encounter. Slide three: In this we see our student with smoothie all over them, defeated. They reach into their backpack for a piece of gum. They open the gum and throw the wrapper over their shoulder behind them, aiming for the trash. The wrapper misses and falls next to the trash can. In the background we can see someone reach the bottom of the stairs. Slide four:

Planning Blog Props The props we are planning to use will be Extra Gum, smoothie, and a cup. Costumes In our commercial one group member will be dressed in a white t-shirt so they can spill a smoothie on themselves. The other group member will have school clothing on.  Schedule: On 9/20/21, our group researched commercials, and began planning out commercial and brainstorming ideas. On 9/22/21, we established the props, costumes, schedule, location list and backup plan. On 9/24/21, we will complete our storyboard for the 30 second commercial. On 9/30/21 and 10/4/21, our group will start filming all of the clips we need the necessary shots for our commercial.  On 10/6/21 and 10/8/21, we will edit and add finishing touches to our commercial. Location Our commercial will be filmed by the stairs in front of the media center. We will have one of our actors walk by the stairs and spill a smoothie on themselves. The other actor will be walking down the stairs observing the first actor.  Back

Research Blog: Commercial Conventions My group is doing an Extra Gum commercial. Music is included, often with an upbeat mood.  The commercials send a positive message. There are not usually any words said. The commercial ends with the phrase “Give Extra, Get Extra” In the commercials, there often is a tracking shot used to follow a character in a scene. In the background, there is usually the Extra Gum. This shows that it is an Extra commercial.  In Extra commercials they try to tell a story with their product uniting characters. They don’t just show the product outright. Two-shots and three shots are commonly used. One character often is holding the gum while the other(s) are on the side.

group:  I am in a team of three people. My group is made up of me (Maria Koehl), Siena Pancera, and Parker Merrick. Each of us carry a different set of skills to bring to this class. We work well together and have a good relationship built. We all work together to benefit each other as well as ourselves. We play soccer together and that team bond we have can be a great asset. Here are some examples of what we each bring. Parker is smart and creative. She can help come up with ideas to make our project more cohesive and eye catching. She can also keep things in order and make sure and filming or editing processes go smoothly. She is outgoing and can work well with everyone. Siena has computer skills and is creative. She can edit as well as help come up with ideas to put our pieces of media together and make it engaging. She also has experience with backstage production work. She can work well backstage and help run everything very well. I bring in the artistic abilities. I can draw and

About Me My name is Maria Rita but everyone calls me Maria. I was born and raised in South Florida. I am 15 and have 2 older brothers, Dylan and Kaelan. I have a dog named Lucy and a turtle named Bowser. My mom is from Brazil, most of her family still live there so we visit often. I value my close relationships and always try to do what is best. I spend a lot of my time with my best friends or playing soccer, but when I have down time I enjoy many hobbies. Some examples are painting, crafts, and baking. I went to a very small elementary/middle school and grew up around many of the same friends. I now attend Fort Lauderdale High School as a 10th grader. Once I graduate, I plan to go to college in hopes that I can play on a college women's soccer team. Soccer is a big part of my life, and I recently joined a new team.
