the final music video

After a lot of effort, communication, and friendship... my group and I pulled together a music video! We all worked hard to create the best final product possible. Lot’s of planning, filming, and editing work was put in. Each small decision we made came together to create one big final product. A product that my group mates and I believe came out great. I enjoyed working with them all, and I am glad i got to experience working with them. I think they did great in stepping up and playing their parts. Being on the backstage aspect of everything was very fun too! I wish I could do it all over again. But i’m excited for the future, and what our next project may be!

finalizing our product

Today was the day we finished up editing. This time around, we had a better grasp at how we were going to edit the video. But even with this knowledge we had much more to edit today than before so it still took us a while. The video was still quite long and we had to cut a bit more footage. I continued to make suggestions as my group mates worked on the editing software. After making different cuts while still trying to capture the videos message well, we were left with even more work. We needed to continue to shorten it to meet the requirements. The clips were still about 15 seconds over. The next part we moved onto editing was the end scene where our main character hit their head. I made suggestions to my group mates of what to cut/ keep. We ended up cutting some of the run up to the sand pile. Once we finished this scene we were almost done. We watched the through the edits we had made over and made a couple more corrections. Once this process was completed, we added the music! Thi

editing is hard work

Today was our first day of editing! We sent whatever clips we had on each of our devices to our editing device. After the clips were transferred onto the editing platform, Siena and I put them into chronological order. Then we began with the basics and cut out a bunch of unnecessary video.  Things such as dead air or bloopers were cut. After this first set of editing, the total time length was still too long. We had filmed so much that we still had about 2 minutes of film left over. At this point we decided to breakdown the editing process by scene. This was we could focus more on the quality of each scene. Starting with the first one, we slowly went through and cut out small bits and pieces. My groupmates and I threw around suggestions such as slowing or speeding something up. We went on like this until we collectively were happy with the result. We then moved onto the beach scenes. Many of the first few clips we had filmed were not video worthy. We cut out a lot of walking and such

the fun continues with filming on... the beach!

Now that we have our opening scene filmed, things are set to film the main portion of the video. Going into things, I had planned on acting in the music video at some point. But this ended up not being the case, as I worked on many behind the scene aspects to make sure filming ran smoothly. We filmed for a bit walking on the beach and such. After a bit had past, we made our way to an ice cream shop so that we could pick up one of our props. Since Parker was our main actress, she decided on what flavor ice cream she would use in the video. While we were there, I grabbed something to snack on since we had a full day a head of us. We continued filming right outside the shop. As we had gone along during this filming process, we had been continuously checking what we had filmed. This helped to make sure we had enough good footage to edit with, and avoid complications with re-filming. This process may have felt annoying in the process to have to re-watch the same footage, but had come in ha

the beginning of filming fun!

My group mates and I began the filming process today! We am met at my group mates house as our first filming spot. We wanted to begin with filming the intro as to get a sense of what the larger portion of the video would be like. A way to set the scene for future clips. First we needed to decide on where/ how we would film the first few clips. My group mates and I bounced ideas off of each other until we came to an agreement. We chose to use the kitchen table as it would have more space to work in. The kitchen also had good lighting and was very pleasant to work in. I had previously made our test prop and handed it to our main actress (Parker). We began filming and I helped Siena with some of the backstage aspects. Parker was our only actress involved in the first few clips, so I mainly worked behind the camera. I do have an acting background though! So I also provided Parker with acting tips so that the final product would be its best. Everything went fairly smoothly. Although we had
